Winter League Wednesday Round-up

Arizona Fall League

Since the last update, the Surprise Rafters have gone 0-2 to lower their overall record to 9-21 for the season.

Player Updates (11/09 - 11/11): -

LHP Chuck Lofgren - Lofgren struggled again on 11/11; in part due to poor defense, but also due to poor control. He allowed 6 runs (all unearned) in only 0.1IP as a result of 3BB, a HBP and two errors (including one by Lofgren himself). In spite of that he lowered his ERA to 28.29 in 9 appearances (7IP, 18H, 37R, 22ER, 15BB, 6K).

RHP Erik Stiller - Stiller allowed an unearned run off 2 hits in 1IP on 11/11, but actually lowered his ERA to 11.08 in the process. Stiller has worked 13 innings in 10 appearances, allowing 24 hits with 4BB and 11K.

RHP Josh Tomlin - Tomlin got the start for the Rafters on 11/11 and it was a mixed outing; he allowed 3 first inning runs before retiring 12 straight hitters before eventually allowing another 2 runs with 2-out in the 5th to give him a line of 5IP, 6H, 5R/ER, 0BB, 6K and raise his ERA to 7.13 in 7 games (24IP, 33H, 22R, 19ER, 3BB, 24K).

RHP Neil Wagner - Has not pitched since the last update, as a result still holds a 7.62ERA in 10 games (13IP, 14H, 12R, 11ER, 11BB, 4K).

3B Wes Hodges - Hodges made his only appearance since the last update on 11/10 going 1-for-2 with a BB, HBP & an RBI to raise his numbers to .366(30-for-82)/.384/.659/1.042 with 6 2B, 6HR & 24RBI in 19 games.

1B Beau Mills - Mills went 0-for-4 on 11/10 to put him in the midst of a 6-for-39 slump (.154) and lower his overall numbers to .208(11-for-53)/.302/.396/.698 with 4 2B, 2HR & 8RBI in 14 games.

INF Josh Rodriguez - J-Rod put in a 2-for-4 performance on 11/11 with 2 2B, to put him in the middle of a modest 4-for-10 hot streak with 2BB over his last 3 games but still only improve his numbers to a disappointing .167(10-for-60)/.282/.250/.532 line in 18 games.

OF Stephen Head - Has not appeared since the last update due to being on the Taxi Squad (activated Wednesdays and Saturdays), so his numbers still hold at .333(5-for-15)/.531/.381/.912 in 8 games.

Hawaii Winter League

Since the last update, the North Shore Honu have gone 1-0 with a 6-6 tie in their game on 11/09 against West Oahu in a game that was agreed to finish after 7 innings to preserve both teams pitching staffs and have run their overall record to 14-18 for the season.

Player Updates (11/09 - 11/11): -

LHP Matt Meyer - Meyer worked a scoreless inning on 11/11 to lower his ERA to 6.32 in 14 games (15.2IP, 20H, 14R, 11ER, 10BB, 18K).

LHP Shawn Nottingham - Nottingham worked 2 innings on 11/09 allowing 3 runs off 4 hits raising his overall ERA to 3.60 in 12 games (20IP, 17H, 11R, 8ER, 9BB, 26K).

LHP Heath Taylor - Not appeared since 10/17 due to a finger blister and his ERA still holds at 2.19 in 4 games.

C Adam Davis - Davis was 0-for-3 on 11/09 and 0-for-1 on 11/11 to lower his line to .106(5-for-47)/.311/.191/.503 in 18 games.

3B Dustin Realini - Realini hasn't appeared since the last update so his line still holds at .194(7-for-36)/.356/.250/.606 in 12 games.

INF Ron Rivas - Rivas was 1-for-3 on 11/09 to raise his line to .262(11-for-42)/.311/.286/.597 in 14 games.

OF Matt McBride - McBride was 2-for-4 with an RBI double on 11/09 and 0-for-4 on 11/11 to give him a steady .278(35-for-126)/.356/.429/.785 line with 10 2B, 3HR & 21RBI in 32 games.

LHP Kaimi Mead is pitching for Honolulu Sharks and since the last update pitched 2 scoreless innings on 11/09 to lower his overall numbers to a 1.45ERA (18.2IP, 13H, 7R, 3ER, 8BB, 14K) in 13 games.
