Shapiro is entering his 9th season as the club's Executive Vice President & General Manager following his promotion in November of 2001 and is currently the 6th most tenured General Manager in Major League Baseball. He has been an integral member of the Indians organization since 1992 and is entering his 19th season with the club. Under his direction the club captured the American League Central Division and came within a game of the World Series in 2007 and constructed the 2005 club that won 93 games. Following the 2005 and 2007 seasons he was named Executive of the Year by the Sporting News and in December 2009 he was named by MLB Commissioner Bud Selig to the Special Committee for On-Field Matters. As club President, he will oversee both the Baseball and Business Operations of the organization.
Antonetti is currently the club's Vice President of Baseball Operations and Assistant General Manager. He is currently entering his 9th season as Assistant GM and is in his 12th season overall with the franchise after joining the Baseball Operations Department in 1999. In his current role, Chris is involved in all aspects of baseball operations and primarily serves to assist Shapiro in all player acquisitions, contract negotiations and player evaluations. He also oversees Player Development and Professional Scouting as well as the information systems, statistical analysis and video scouting within the Baseball Operations Department.
