Some Quick Updates

I'll add to this later tonight or early tomorrow morning, but wanted to get a few things out. Been hectic with my birthday parties galore over the weekend and with our new "Gameday" feature that is starting up on STO (www.sportstimeohio.com) tonight.

Anyway:

- Today RHP Bubbie Buzachero was sent to AAA Buffalo and Akron received RHP Scott Roehl from Mahoning Valley (extended spring training). This is a move as a result of RHP Tom Mastny being called up to Cleveland when RHP Joe Borowski was put on the disabled list today with a strained triceps muscle.

- Outfielder Trevor Crowe was put on the disabled list the other day retroactive to 4/6 with back tightness. OF Stephen Head joined Akron from extended spring training.

- As I mentioned in spring training, the Indians affiliation with Triple-A Buffalo will likely come to an end after this season. With a brand new ballpark ready to go in 2009 in Columbus, OH and no team locked in there, it is all but a given the Indians will move their Triple-A affiliate to Columbus next year. I'll have more on this in my report on Thursday, but the Indians passed on an extension with Buffalo, which is pretty much the final nail in the coffin. Because of rules, the Indians cannot formally negotiate with another site to move until mid-September, but such rules never stopped anyone from agreeing to handshake off the record deals.
