Around the Farm: December 26

Eric Berger
Around the Farm (ATF) takes a quick look at some of the daily performances by Indians prospects. This is a special winter ball version of ATF that recaps all the offseason action by Indians players in the Caribbean Leagues.  The positions listed below are where the player was playing in the game.

Here is the rundown of what Indians players in winter ball did yesterday.

Venezuela Winter League
  • Jose Lopez (3B, Cardenales de Lara): 2-for-4, R. Another good game from Lopez this offseason, and since the Indians showed interest in signing him and becoming “more aggressive” in signing him he is hitting .368 with 2 HR, 10 RBI and .994 OPS in his last 10 games.
  • Eric Berger (RP, Bravos de Margarita): 0.0 IP, 1 H, 1 R/ER, 0 BB, 0 K.  For the 4th straight game Berger is brought into the game in a matchup situation and promptly allows a hit to the first batter he has faced. In his last 4 outings he has faced just 5 batters and recorded one out (K) while allowing 4 hits and 1 walk.
  • Rob Bryson (RP, Bravos de Margarita): 0.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K. Bryson only recorded one out and faced one hitter, but he recorded the save. He was brought into the game with 2 outs and a runner on 1st base with 3 runs already in, but slammed the door on a 12-11 victory.
