Haha, you weren't supposed to see this yet (I buried it with the date, but made the article so I could link it). This will be put on the front page on Friday.

I know you buried it. I went looking after noticing the date.

I had kept looking to see if the link was active and up it popped.

:)

cool stuff, tl

lots of work went into this. next year may be even tougher than this year.

What are the rules for players selected in the Rule 5 draft again? Certainly, LaPorta, Huff and Hodges would be taken (among others) wouldn't they?

Do the Indians simply need to put them on the 40-man to protect them or is there another way as well?

Inker, thanks....and yeah lots of good players that need protecting next year!

Charlie, instead of going through all the Rule 5 stuff, check out the FAQ I did on it here:

http://www.indiansprospectinsider.com/2008/10/rule-5-draft-faq.html

Hopefully that helps.

I cannot believe Elvis Araujo is elligible to be picked in the rule 5 in a couple years. Last year was totally washed out and set his development back a lot. Could he be another KDC type decision in two years?

Elvis could certainly be another De La situation, though he has to show something in a full season league for an entire year first one of these next two years.
