Around the Farm: January 13

Jose Lopez
Around the Farm (ATF) takes a quick look at some of the daily performances by Indians prospects. This is a special winter ball version of ATF that recaps all the offseason action by Indians players in the Caribbean Leagues.  The positions listed below are where the player was playing in the game.

Here is the rundown of what Indians players in winter ball did yesterday.

Australian Baseball League
  • Andrew Campbell (LF, Brisbane Bandits): 3-for-4, 2 R, RBI. Fresh off his first bad game on Thursday in over two weeks and an end to his 11-game hitting streak, Campbell came right back last night and stay hot with his third three-hit night in the ABL this year. He is now hitting a very good .299/.390/.388 in 20 games for Brisbane.
  • Ryan Battaglia (C, Brisbane Bandits): 2-for-3, 2 R, 2B, K.  Battaglia’s first multi-hit effort in the ABL this season and his best game by far out there. He is only 4-for-20 at the plate, but 3 of those hits have now gone for doubles.
Venezuela Winter League
  • Jose Lopez (1B, Caribes de Anzoategui): 2-for-6, R. Lopez had a good regular season in Venezuela where in 43 games he hit .310 with 5 HR, 24 RBI and a .820 OPS. He has slowed down some in the playoffs, though some of that is because he has been hobbled a little with a minor injury that sidelined him a few days and he is still working his way back from. In 8 postseason games he is hitting .258 with 1 HR, 6 RBI and .678 OPS.
