Around the Farm: January 14

Andrew Campbell
Around the Farm (ATF) takes a quick look at some of the daily performances by Indians prospects. This is a special winter ball version of ATF that recaps all the offseason action by Indians players in the Caribbean Leagues.  The positions listed below are where the player was playing in the game.

Here is the rundown of what Indians players in winter ball did yesterday.

Australian Baseball League
  • Andrew Campbell (LF, Brisbane Bandits): 2-for-4, 2 R, BB. Campbell has now hit in 13 of his last 14 games with 2 straight multi-hit games and 4 multi-hit games in his last 7 games. He is now hitting .307/.395/.387 in 22 games in the ABL.
  • Ryan Battaglia (C, Brisbane Bandits): 0-for-4, 2 K. After going 3-for-7 in his last 2 games, Battaglia went hitless in 4 at bats. He has now struck out 10 times in 24 at bats this offseason in the ABL.
Dominican Republic Winter League
  • Eric Berger (RP, Gigantes del Cibao): 0.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 1 K. Berger has yet to allow a run in 4 outings in the DR, but he was shaky for the first time. Coming into the game he had walked 2 batters in 11 games this offseason, so he doubled that output in one night.
Venezuela Winter League
  • Jose Lopez (3B, Caribes de Anzoategui): 1-for-4, RBI. After a very good regular season in the Venezuelan Winter League, Lopez has cooled considerably in the playoffs going 9-for-36 (.250) with 1 extra base hit and 6 RBI in 11 games.
