It seems that Mother Nature is the only thing that can stop the Akron Aeros right now.
The Aeros, winners of 10 in a row dating to the regular season and on the verge of clinching a fourth straight trip to the Eastern League Championship Series, will have to wait at least one more day as tonight’s contest against the Reading Phillies has been rained out. The game will be made up tomorrow (Saturday) night starting at 7:05 p.m., and will consist of one game only.
If the Aeros win they will sweep this best-of-five Southern Division Championship Series, but if Reading wins then game four will be played Sunday at 7:05 p.m., also at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading. Should the Phillies push the series to a deciding fifth game, that contest will be played back in Akron on Monday night, also at 7:05 p.m.
Any fans holding tickets to the DIVIS 3 game originally scheduled for Sunday at Canal Park may use those tickets Monday night, if necessary.
Pitching matchups are expected to remain the same for tomorrow’s contest, with left-hander Eric Berger (3-1, 2.67 ERA) starting for the Aeros and Mike Cisco (2-4, 4.58 ERA) taking the mound for Reading.
