As noted with the earlier update, Triple-A Columbus first baseman/outfielder Jordan Brown will not be called up to Cleveland and instead Triple-A Columbus infielder Niuman Romero has been called up. In addition to that news, here are two other noteworthy nuggets that affect Double-A Akron:
- Triple-A Columbus infielder Jason Donald is expected to play for Akron in the playoffs. Nothing official at the moment, but he is working his way back from a back issue which has sidelined him since early August as well as an earlier injury to his knee. Because of the injuries, and him not being ready for a call to Cleveland, he is expected to get some time with Akron this postseason.
- Outfielder Nick Weglarz will not play in the playoffs and his season is over. After trying to give it a go last week, he is still experiencing pain in his shin and has been shut down.
