Brach Named Midwest League Player of the Week

The Midwest League has announced that Low-A Lake County right-handed pitcher Brett Brach was named their Pitcher of the Week winning for July 19-25.

Brach threw the Captains first complete game shutout this season on July 24 vs. Peoria going nine shutout innings and allowing seven hits, one walk, and had five strikeouts. He threw 97 pitches in total, 61 for strikes. He induced 10 groundball outs and has aided by three double plays. It was the first complete nine inning game by a Lake County pitcher since right-handed pitcher Jake Dittler did it in Lake County's inaurgual season in 2003.

On the season, the Indians 10th round pick in the 2009 Draft out of Monmouth University is now 2-3 with a 3.23 ERA in 14 starts for Lake County (72.2 IP, 77 H, 20 BB, 55 K). He also has made two appearances out of the bullpen for High-A Kinston (2.2 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K).
