Today the Indians released three players from their player development system: right-handed pitcher Jonathan Holt, outfielder Ryan Blair, and outfielder/first baseman John Allman.

Holt was a high draft pick. Of course, it was always a bad pick even at the time, but Tony are you surprised the Indians gave up on him so quickly?
Yeah, usually don't see a top 5 pick dumped after 2.5 seasons, but Holt doesn't have great stuff so when the command went AWOL last year it pretty much doomed him. With so much depth at AAA/AA there was no room for him. I actually expected this release....though he's an outstanding young man so I wish him well.
