Around the Farm: November 10

Rob Bryson
Around the Farm (ATF) takes a quick look at some of the daily performances by Indians prospects. This is a special fall and winter ball version of ATF that recaps all the offseason action by Indians players in the Arizona Fall League (AFL) and the Caribbean Leagues.  The positions listed below are where the player was playing in the game.

Here is the rundown of what Indians players in fall and winter ball did yesterday. There were no games scheduled in Puerto Rico last night and only one game was played in the Dominican Republic (no Indians’ played).

Arizona Fall League
  • Chad Huffman (1B): 1-for-5, RBI. Huffman has a modest 5-game hitting streak going 8-for-23 over those games. In 16 games overall he is hitting .227/.329/.364.
  • Roberto Perez (C): 2-for-4, 2 R. Perez continues to struggle with the bat (.217) much like he did in the regular season, but he continues to get on base at a .351 clip and has a solid .786 OPS in 13 games this fall.
  • Preston Guilmet (RP): 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K. Guilmet’s first appearance for the Phoenix Desert Dogs in 10 days. He continued his strong stretch of games as he has 4 straight scoreless outings covering 5.1 innings.
Venezuelan Winter League
  • Rob Bryson (RP, Bravos de Margarita): 0.1 IP, 0 H, 2 R/ER, 2 BB, 0 K. Bryson came into the game with a tie score at 3-3 in the top of the 8th inning.  He struggled to throw strikes and had 2 walks which both ended up scoring and he was saddled with the loss.
  • Ezequiel Carrera (CF, Navegantes del Magallanes): 0-for-4, K, E. Carrera is still playing well in Venezuela hitting .308 in 10 games, but he already has 2 errors in the outfield.
