Around the Farm: November 6

Joseph Colon
Around the Farm (ATF) takes a quick look at some of the daily performances by Indians prospects. This is a special fall and winter ball version of ATF that recaps all the offseason action by Indians players in the Arizona Fall League (AFL) and the Caribbean Leagues.  The positions listed below are where the player was playing in the game.

Here is the rundown of what Indians players in fall and winter ball did yesterday. Note, the Arizona Fall League was off yesterday.

Puerto Rican Winter League
  • Joseph Colon (RP, Leones de Ponce): 1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K. With the Puerto Rican Winter League getting underway this past weekend, Colon is one of a few Indians’ players participating. He needs to continue to get innings after missing all of 2010 with an arm injury.
  • Giovanni Soto (RP, Gigantes de Carolina): 0.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K. Soto faced three batters and gave up hits to two of them and struck out one. He missed a lot of time this year due to an arm injury and is playing in Puerto Rico to make up some of his lost innings.
Venezuelan Winter League
  • Luis Valbuena (2B, Cardenales de Lara): 2-for-4. A much needed multi-hit game for Valbuena who is still hitting just .237/.275/.421 in his last 10 games.
