Clippers Washed Out In Norfolk
The Columbus vs. Norfolk game scheduled for Monday night was washed out because of rain. The game will be made up as part of a double-header tomorrow (Tuesday). The first game starts at 6:15pm and LHP Jeremy Sowers (1-1, 2.25) goes against LHP Rich Hill (0-1, 5.40) of Norfolk. In game two RHP Jack Cassel (2-1, 6.04) goes up against RHP David Hernandez (1-1, 4.58).
Aeros Washed Out Again Monday
ALTOONA, PA – Even a move of 167 miles couldn’t get the Aeros on the field Monday, as their game with the Altoona Curve was rained out. It marked the second straight rainout for Akron, following Sunday’s rainout in Bowie. Monday’s game will be made up on Akron’s next visit to Altoona, as the teams will play a doubleheader consisting of two seven-inning games on Saturday, June 6th.
Akron continues its road trip Tuesday evening in Altoona, with a Cinco de Mayo-inspired 5:55 p.m. start time. Starting pitchers have not yet been announced.
Chisenhall Hits Another Grand Slam, Kinston Loses 10-9
Newport native Lonnie Chisenhall went 4-for-5 with a grand slam home run, as Kinston lost a wild one to Salem 10-9 Monday night in Virginia. Chisenhall was a triple short of the cycle, hitting two singles, a double and the big home run. Three of Chisenhall’s five home runs have been grand slams this season; he is now hitting .296 on the year with 24 RBI.
After Salem scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning, Chisenhall’s big blast gave Kinston a 5-4 lead. With the K-Tribe up 6-4 in the bottom of the fourth inning, Salem batted around scoring five runs and chasing Kinston starter Ryan Morris from the game. Morris (1-3) went 2 1/3 innings, giving up six hits and nine earned runs. He walked four and struck out three. Down 9-6 after three innings, Kinston’s bullpen held serve as Jonathan Holt, Kyle Landis and Garrison Campfield combined for 5 2/3 inning of five hit, one run ball.
The K-Tribe came back in the top of the ninth, when Cord Phelps and Chisenhall led off the inning with back to back hits. After a Matt McBride strikeout and a Matt Brown lineout, Adam Davis sent a two-RBI single down the left field line making the score 10-9. Davis advanced to second on a wild pitch, but Roman Pena struck out to end the game. Kinston (13-12) falls to one game back of Salem (14-11) for first place in the Carolina League Southern Division.
Game two of the four game set takes place Tuesday night at 7:07 pm in Salem. Ryan Miller will take the hill for Kinston.

Still nothing. Hope to have something in the next day or so though....by Thurs I hope. Indians have no comment at the moment as they can't say anything until the results are completed and confirmed (good or bad).

Of the K-Tribe positional players, who do you think has the first crack at moving up to Akron?
Brown and McBride both are a little old for High-A, so I would assume they're first in line.
I don't see much movement from Kinston up to Akron since the team is pretty young. I think McBride is the only one who is likely to be promoted soon, very soon in fact given his age and previous (though limited) experience in Kinston. He may need more of a challenge in AA. I'd be surprised if he is still in Kinston at the end of May.
The starting staff should remain in place all year for the most part, and the relievers as well except for Meyer who may get a call to Akron at some point.
