Herges Called Up, Perez Optioned

RHP Matt Herges has been activated on the 40-man and called up to Cleveland, and LHP Rafael Perez optioned to Triple-A Columbus. To make room on the roster for Herges, the Indians released RHP Juan Salas.

Talk about peculiar moves. I realize Perez needs to get his stuff worked out in AAA, but to replace him we bring up Matt Herges... really?! Time to buy the World Series tickets.

Then, Juan Salas doesn't throw a pitch for us this year. What happened there?

Jeremy Sowers is still completely up in the air, too.

I'm perplexed.

Yeah, Herges is sort of puzzling, though I think he is a temp addition. The myserious disappearance of Juan Salas from about 3/21 in spring training is an unknown. The guy just vanished.
