Herrmann To The Bullpen

Well, remember that "mid-level starting pitching prospect from Double-A" that Shapiro talked about on Wednesday that they were considering for a bullpen role? Looks like RHP Frank Herrmann was that guy, though he may not be the only one. Herrmann was moved up to Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday, but he has not taken over the starting duties as expected for departed starter Jeremy Sowers. Instead, LHP Zach Jackson is moving into the Columbus rotation and Herrmann is going to the bullpen.

This is odd... have they soured that much on John Meloan? Is the Vizcaino signing a myth?

I'm glad were slowly putting an axe to the retreads and starting fresh and giving new guys a chance, but it's safe to say I have no idea what direction they go next.

Here's hoping to another good draft, and some guys that are ready to contribute VERY early.

Vizcaino is very real I believe. They haven't soured on Meloan, its just he is not pitching well as all. Really unfortunate as we could use him.

Yeah, looks like just about anyone at AAA/AA is up for potential bullpen duty with the Indians.
