Here is a quick recap of how the players in the Cleveland Indians' system did in fall/winter league action on Friday November 19th:
- Jose Constanza - CF, Toros del Este: 1-for-3, R, BB, 2 SB. It was business as usual for Constanza on Friday night out in the Dominican Republic as he reached base two out of four plate appearances and stole two bases.
- Matt McBride - LF, Gigantes del Cibao: 2-for-5, R, RBI. McBride ends his mini-slump with a multi-hit game. He is tied for the league leade in homers (7) and is second in RBI (21).
- Jerad Head - 1B, Gigantes de Carolina: 0-for-4, R, BB, K. Head's numbers continue to slowly fall out in Venezuela. He is now down to a .256 batting average and his OPS has slipped under .800 to .795.
- Luis Valbuena - 2B-LF, Cardenales de Lara: 2-for-3, 2 2B, BB. Valbuena has the average back over .200 at .211 and in his last 6 games is 6-for-17 at the plate (.353).
- Juan Apodaca - C, Aguilas del Zulia: 0-for-3, R, BB. Apodaca with his customary one game start every five games. Only has 27 at bats in Venezuela and is hitting .222/.300/.296.
Note: The Arizona Fall League was off on Friday as the league has wrapped up play. The Peoria Javelinas play today at 1:00 PM MST for the AFL Championship.
