Here is a quick recap of how the players in the Cleveland Indians' system did in fall/winter league action on Sunday October 31st:
- Matt McBride - RF-1B, Gigantes del Cibao: 2-for-5, R, HR, RBI, K. McBride cranks out his first home run and third extra base hit in 8 games out in the Dominican Republic.
- Lucas Montero - LF, Gigantes del Cibao: 1-for-4, BB, K, SB. Montero gets a rare chance to start as the leadoff hitter. Still just 6 AB in 4 G played.
- Josh Judy - RP, Aguilas Cibaenas: 0.2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K. Judy has now made four appearances out of the bullpen and has yet to allow a run. He allowed his first two hits, though has still not allowed a walk.
- Jerad Head - LF, Gigantes de Carolina: 2-for-5, R, 2B, 2 RBI, BB, K. Head continues to have a very good winter campaign. In 7 games he is now hitting .321/.424/.960 with 1 HR and 7 RBI.
- Giovanni Soto - RP, Senadores de San Juan: 0.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 0 K. Soto made his Puerto Winter League debut on Sunday, and something of a surprise. He only threw 113 innings this year, so the Indians look like they are trying to add some innings to that total.
- Jared Goedert - 3B, Leones del Caracas: 2-for-3, 2B. Goedert actually had a quiet stat line as compared to the rest of the players in what was a 20-15 game featuring 6 home runs.
- Ezequiel Carrera - CF, Navegantes del Magallanes: 1-for-4, R, 2B, 2 RBI, BB. Has now played 16 games and is hitting .306/.377/.403 with 7 RBI, 3 stolen bases, and a good 7:6 strikeout to walk ratio.
