Here is a quick recap of how the players in the Cleveland Indians' system did in fall/winter league action on Friday November 5th:
- Roberto Perez - C, Peoria Javelinas: 2-for-5, 2 R, RBI. Perez is still hitting only .156 at the plate, but he continues to play near perfect defense as he has not yet had an error, has just one passed ball, and is 7-for-15 in throwing out base-stealers (46.7%).
- Adam Abraham - DH, Peoria Javelinas: 1-for-4, R, BB. Abraham came off the taxi squad and was available to play on Friday, likely to give someone a break for the rest of the weekend (I am not sure who).
- Scott Barnes - SP, Peoria Javelinas: 4.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K. Barnes earns his second victory in the AFL, and at least according to Fangraphs has been the best pitcher in the AFL so far.
- Ezequiel Carrera - CF, Navegantes del Magallanes: 0-for-3, R, 2 BB, 2 SB. Carrera still in a mini funk going 1-for-14 in his last four games, but continues to get on base via the walk and be a nuisance on the basepaths.
- Juan Apodaca - C, Aguilas del Zulia: 0-for-4, 2 K. Apodaca with rare starting opportunity and his first game action since Halloween. Hitting just .176/.222/.235 in 7 games and 17 at bats.
