Here is a quick recap of how the players in the Cleveland Indians' system did in fall/winter league action on Saturday November 6th:
- Matt McBride - RF, Gigantes del Cibao: 2-for-4, R, HR, 2 RBI. How do you spell red hot: M-C-B-R-I-D-E. Mr. Streak is at it again with another offensive hot streak with four straight games with a homer and 8-for-19 in his last 5 games.
- Lucas Montero - LF, Gigantes del Cibao: 1-for-3, 2B, BB. Montero with another chance to start and continues to make the most of the opportunity where in the last two games he is 4-for-8 at the plate.
- Jerad Head - 3B-RF, Gigantes de Carolina: 1-for-4, K. After a hot first week in Puerto Rico, Head has cooled off of late as he is just 2-for-13 in his last four games.
- Omar Aguilar - RP, Gigantes de Carolina: 0.1 IP, 3 H, 2 R/ER, 1 BB, 0 K. Not exactly the greatest of debuts for Aguilar our in Puerto Rico. Looks like he will be pitching in a few games to get a few extra innings in.
- Luis Valbuena - SS, Cardenales de Lara: 0-for-2, K. The Valbuena Watch continues as we see when he gets his next hit. He has now gone seven straight games without a hit and is 0-for-21 during that span. Ouch.
- Ezequiel Carrera - CF, Navegantes del Magallanes: 2-for-4, K, CS. Hopefully Carrera's multi-hit night will spark his bat. Prior to the game he was in a 3-for-26 funk at the plate.
- Jason Kipnis - 3B, AFL East Rising Stars: 1-for-1, 2B. Kipnis came into the game late as a pinch hitter in the AFL Rising Stars game on Saturday night. Of no surprise he gets a hit, and it ends up going for extra bases.
