Game Recaps 6/9

This is unconfirmed, but apparently Adam Davis has been sent back down to Lake County. The primary reason supposedly will be to get him extended playing time at catcher, which he just picked up recently when he was in extended spring training for a few weeks in May.

Kinston Comes Back, Win 3-2

The Kinston Indians earned their 11th comeback win of the year, and their third win in a row, beating the Salem Avalanche, 3-2, in the opener of a three game series in Virginia. The K-Tribe bats couldn't solve Salem starter Erick Abreu until the seventh when Alex Castillo and Jerad Head had run-scoring singles to tie the score at two. Jason Denham was cut down at the plate to end the seventh, but came up in a big way when he hit the game-winning single in the ninth inning plating Nick Weglarz.

The Avalanche got to starter Josh Tomlin early with two straight hits to lead off the game and scoring in the first on a sacrifice fly. Tomlin settled down, however, striking out seven, tying a season high, and allowing a run in the fifth without a ball leaving the infield.

The win was the second for Matt Meyer (2-0) in relief and Neil Wagner pitched a perfect ninth for his second save. The loss goes to Jason Dominguez, who gave up the RBI single and the unearned run after a passed ball forced Weglarz to third.

The two teams are back at it tomorrow at 7:07, with Hector Rondon (2-3) taking the hill for the K-Tribe as they look to earn their fourth straight win.

Hi Tony,

I owe you an apology! You invited Dennis Nosco, who I don't know at all, to be a gues blogger on your site and I appear to have upset him greatly. That was not my intent and I am very sorry. He does not want me to contact him again and I will honor his request. He apparently was very concerned about some "vetting" process to post on the site. I am traveling now and didn't have time to finish it. It never occured to me that this was a priority but if you want to know the sordid details of my like, you only have to ask. I have posted on this site for some time and yo have always been diligent in responding to my questions, even when we disagree.

Again, I apologize for whatever offense I gave to Mr. Nosco. The real funny thing is I was trying to be nice and give him some feedback on a subject that he is obviously passionate about since no else responded to his work.

Inker, no prob. No apologies needed as you were just sharing an opinion. As you can tell, Denny is extremely passionate for the draft and is not happy with the Mirabelli regime. I don't agree with all he says, but I do value his input very much which is why I asked him to come here and talk draft. He knows his stuff. Again, no prob, and thanks as always for the feedback.
