"The Indians select redraft number...."

When names start being called in the draft today you will here something like “re-draft 0001 John Smith”. This term re-draft means that the player has been drafted before and didn’t sign. If a team has drafted a player before they have to get his written permission to draft him again. This probably is required so as to avoid any potential bad blood between teams and players who they failed to sign. Don’t know if the Indians received or even asked for permission to re-draft any players they have previously drafted but here is a list of some of the better guys eligible this year who the Indians drafted before and the year they were drafted. While the Indians don’t always re-draft guys they have done it sometimes, with Jensen Lewis coming to mind as one player they re-drafted.

2007 (as college juniors): Matt Hague (Ok St), Cole St. Clair (Rice), Jared Clark (Fullerton), Doug Hogan (Clemson), Tyler Kuhn (West Virginia)
2005 (as high school seniors): Aaron Shafer (Wichita St.), Willie Hale (Ohio St), Cody Satterwhite (Ole Miss), Cammeron Satterwhite (Cincinnati)
