Adam Miller Likely Done For Season

Miller is out throwing 120 feet now and will start to throw some games soon, but being so late in the season the Indians do not plan to ramp him up to pitch maybe the final week in Buffalo just to be shut down. He won't be a September callup in Cleveland and will instead go to Instructional League to start his comeback. Also will go to the Dominican Reublic or Venezuela this offseason and pitch a lot in winter ball to make up innings.

Also, no decision yet on bullpen or starting role for him next year, but when he pitches in Winter Ball he will start so that he gets consistent innings. The surgery was supposedly brutal to where he has a scar that goes from the tip of his middle finger all the way to the middle of his hand, per what GCL manager Rougas Odor told me when I was there two weeks ago.

Thanks for the update. As a frustrated Miller owner in fantasy, it's good to hear any kind of news on him. I hope he has a good winter and can come back strong in 2009.

No prob Brian.

Yeah, keep those fingers crossed (no pun intended) he stays healthy. Amazing how if not for this lingering finger issue that he could have been on this team LAST JUNE. THey need him to come back to full health as he would help them immensely next season.
