Scott Lewis To Buffalo, Weglarz Impresses

The Buffalo Bisons today announced that LHP Scott Lewis and INF/OF Jared Head have been promoted to the team. The Bisons also placed RHP Brian Slocum on the disabled list (retroactive to August 12) and INF Morgan Ensberg on the temporary inactive list (retroactive to August 12). C Armando Camacaro, who was on the team’s disabled list, has been transferred to Double-A Akron. RHP Neil Wagner was promoted from Kinston to Akron to take Lewis' spot on the roster.

Also, OF Nick Weglarz was flat out sick today for Canada against Olympic favorite Cuba. In a one run loss to Cuba, Weglarz went 4-for-4 with 2 HR off their lefty ace. From what I have been told, one "hit top of flagpole ABOVE the scaffolding for the center field camera - easy 470 shot" and the second was he hit with basically "one hand".

Why not Stephen Head? He has hit the ball well in Akron, hasn't he? What has Jared Head done this year?

Well, for one, Stephen Head does not play 3B.

It was a short term callup where Buffalo needed a 3B while Morgan Ensberg is out for the birth of a child. Ensberg is expected back over the weekend and when that happens, Jared Head will go back to Kinston.

Stephen Head is better off in Akron the rest of the year in a playoff environment facing better competition anyway.
