Here are the stats from today's intrasquad game (Tuesday), and again the hitting stats were not kept, but here are the pitching lines for the four seven-inning games for Columbus, Akron, Kinston and Lake County. Nice pics, and thanks for the numbers. I know the results mean absolutely nothing here, but I can't help but be a little disappointed that Lofgren had trouble with command again.
Thanks, yeah I am not in AZ yet (get there a week from tomorrow), but someone I know well who is out there at the moment was gracious enough to forward me som pics from yesterday's action.
As for the stats, yeah, it is definitely early....but I did notice Lofgren having command trouble as indicated by those numbers. 44 pitches for 1.1 innings, 3 walks and only 5 first pitch strikes to 11 batters is not what you want to see. I keep reminding myself that it is early and a lot of the guys are struggling with their command and it is only one game. But when you see Tomlin follow Lofgren and breeze through 2.2 innings on just 30 pitches with one walk and 5 first pitch strikes to 7 batters, it really makes Lofgren's line stick out.
Two things missing from the box scores are the errors and hit by pitches (there have been a lot, as Newsom hit three guys in his outing the other day). So some date is missing.....but for me the important stats are the amount of pitches per inning and the ratio of first pitch strikes to number of batters. Really have an eye on that.
I am going to try and compile the stats this spring and put up an update to them every 4-5 days. Damn hard to do this manually for 150+ guys, but will try! Worst case I do a final stats listing at the end of camp.
Good to see DLC and Lee topping out at 93mph already.
