Barnes likely out for the rest of the season

With Triple-A Columbus starting play back up tonight after the All Star break, look for left-handed pitcher Scott Barnes to be placed on the seven day disabled list today with what is currently being listed as a left knee sprain. He hurt the knee on Sunday when he ran to the third base line to field a bunt and it buckled on him when he turned to throw the ball to first.  No official word as of yet who may be taking his roster spot and potentially his turn in the rotation, but a very good guess would be that Double-A Akron right-handed pitcher Paolo Espino will be added to the Columbus roster today or whenever Barnes is officially placed on the disabled list.

Barnes, the Indians and doctors are still evaluating his knee and considering their options, and more clarity on what exactly the injury is should be known sometime next week. It does not look good though as there surely appears to be some ligament damage, the only question is to what extent. He is expected to miss the rest of the season.

Good luck to Scott. Tough injury.
Didn't need to see the video, though.

Scott Barnes still rocks and will make the major league club within the next 12 to 18 months
