Notes on Offense:

The Captains struck out a season high 18 times on Wednesday night versus Bowling Green. The 18 strikeouts tallied by the Hot Rods matched their team record set last season.

Outfielder LeVon Washington had his nine game hitting streak end on the 3rd. During the streak, he hit .289 with three doubles, two triples, five RBI, and seven runs scored.

Brian Heere has an 11 game on-base streak as well as a seven game hitting streak. Both are career highs.

Jesus Aguilar had his 29 game on-base streak and six game hit streak snapped on July 6th, finishing the game 0 for 3 after being ejected in the top of the sixth inning for arguing a checked swing call with the home plate umpire.

Notes on Pitching:


The Captains bullpen picked up three losses on the week. The 'pen had been doing well in recent weeks, but this week struggled mightly. Closer Clayton Ehlert did not pitch at all this week. Dale Dickerson and Jordan Cooper picked up both saves.

Kyle Blair was sent down to Extended Spring Training for treatment on his ailing knee.

Mike Rayl was taken out of the game after only 1.2 innings due to pitch count.
