Around the Farm: Cinco de Mayo

Around the Farm takes a quick look at some of yesterday's performances by Indians prospects throughout the system. The positions listed below are where the player was playing in yesterday's game.

Tim Fedroff - LF, Akron: 3-5, 2B, RBI.
I hate to sound like a broken record, but it's worth repeating: Tim Fedroff is a consistent and reliable player. Ever since he's begun his professional career with the Tribe, he's produced at every level he's been asked to. This season is no different and have raised his batting average to .307. Fedroff may not project as a starter in the majors, he can certainly be a serviceable fourth outfielder.

• Lonnie Chisenhall - 3B, Columbus: 1-3, BB, K. Chisenhall continues to pick up speed from him slow start.
• Luis Valbuena - LF, Columbus: 1-4, R, 2B, RBI, K. Valbuena is basically on the outs with the Tribe brass and could be trade bait by season's end.
• Frank Herrmann - RP, Columbus: 1.1 IP, H, BB, K. Quality outing thrown by Herrmann who should be back in Cleveland sooner rather than later.
• John Drennan - RF, Akron: 2-5, K. Once considered an elite prospect, Drennan has really fell off the radar of most fans.
• Matt McBride - 1B, Akron: 2-4, R, HR, 2 RBI. McBride continues to swing a hot bat and built off his solid performance the day before yesterday.
• Chen Lee - RP, Akron: 1.2 IP, 5 K. Talk about getting work done and absolutely dominating.
• Adam Abraham - 3B, Kinston: 2-4, RBI. He's really hit righties well this season (.302), but lefties are another story (.056).
• Justin Toole - SS, Kinston: 2-4, 2 R, 2B. Toole makes the most out of the situation given to him being an organizational player.
• Brett Brach - SP, Kinston: 6.1 IP, 2 H, ER/R, 3 BB, 5 K. I had considered featuring Brach, but decided against it. Nevertheless, a great start given by Brach whose ERA is a mere 1.25 on the young season. Brach also picked up the win, improving to 3-1.
• Preston Guilmet - CP, Kinston: IP, 2 K. Closed the door for the game, not giving batters a chance and picking up his fourth save on the year.
• Giovanny Urshela - 3B, Lake County: 2-5, 2 R, HR, 3 RBI, K. It's hard to believe that Urshela is only 19 years old and experiencing this much success early on in his career.
• Alex Lavisky - DH, Lake County: 0-4, 4 K. Pretty sure I may have jinxed Lavisky yesterday by writing he hadn't struck out once in the ballgame. Back to his same old ways.
• Jesus Aguilar - 1B, Lake County: 1-5, R, HR, 3 RBI, K. Aguilar continues to show his power potential that could prove useful down the line.
