In the 21st round, the Cleveland Indians select: CF Jeff Rowland - Georgia Tech, 5'10" 185 lbs.
UPDATE (5:41 PM EST): Jeff Ellis
Jeff Rowland is a risk pick out of Georgia Tech. He is a draft eligible sophomore, who was rated the 13th best prospect in the state of Georgia. Rowland is a good defender with good range, but lacks a good arm so he is strictly a center fielder. He has good speed and it allows him to cover a lot of ground. There is some concern about his bat as in the summer leagues he seemed to struggle using wood bats. He does show a good eye though and knows how to bunt, which is a skill many players don’t take the time to work on anymore.
