2009 Indians 24th Round Pick: RHP Michael Hamann

In the 24th round, the Cleveland Indians select: RHP Michael Hamann - Danbury High School (OH), 6'3, DOB 01/01/1991.

UPDATE (6:05 PM EST): Jeff Ellis
Michael Hamann is a right handed prep pitcher in Ohio. He is ranked the 7th best prospect in Ohio by Baseball America. He is currently committed to attend the University of Toledo. His fastball sits in the 90-92 range but has hit 94 MPH. His second best pitch is his curve, but he also has a screwball and a changeup. He has shown good command and is a smart, aware player at all times. He holds runners well and put up gaudy numbers this year. He had stated if he was taken in the top ten rounds he thought he would sign, buts it is not as much about money as it is about the right team and environment. So time will tell, but he could be a player like House last year who we signed and got another nice young pitcher out of a college commitment.
