2009 Indians 22nd Round Pick: RHP Kenneth Kelly

In the 22nd round, the Cleveland Indians select: RHP Kenneth Kelly - Yavapai College, 6'2" 190 lbs, DOB 10/14/1988.

UPDATE (5:43 PM EST): Jeff Ellis
Kenneth Kelley - he actually goes by Merrill - is a right handed pitcher out of Yavapai college. He is committed to go to Arizona State next year. He was ranked 21st in the state of Arizona by Baseball America. He carved up the players he faced pitching in an inferior league. His fastball sits in the high 80’s/ low 90’s and he is an okay pitcher. His out pitches are a pair of changeups. He has a circle change which drops out of the zone, but his more infamous pitch is an eephus pitch that just messes with hitters thanks to the drop in velocity. He has good command and if nothing else will be an interesting player to watch because of the rarity of the eephus pitch. (Side note: The eephus is a junk ball pitch that’s got an extremely low velocity. Its know as the Bloop curve or the Bugs Bunny curve).
