Jordan Henry stats
From Ole Miss website:
“Henry’s name was called in the seventh round when he was selected by the Cleveland Indians. The junior outfielder was one of the top offensive performers for the Rebels and in the Southeastern Conference this season as he led the league in steals and walks. Henry set the single-season steal mark at Ole Miss with 38 steals and finished three shy of the single-season mark for walks with 56 on they year.
The outfielder started all but two games on the year and posted an on base percentage of .473 for the year and scored almost every other time he reached base. He also batted .347 in the lead-off spot and scored a team-high 70 runs on the year while driving in 31 runs.
“I'm real excited to be chosen by a great club,” Henry said. “My goal was to get to the next level and move on. But the next few days I'll talk to the Indians and decide some things. I'm very excited. It's pretty cool. I've had three great years here (at Ole Miss). It's been unbelievable. It's a win-win situation for me. I can either move on to play pro ball or I can have another fun year at Ole Miss.””
UPDATE (12:52 PM EST): Andrew Zajac
Henry is a line drive hitter, who uses all parts of the field, but tends to be better the opposite way. He doesn't have much power to speak of and hits his extra base hits down the line, rather than in the gaps. His fielding is above-average, with an above average arm and with his speed, he can remain in center. His bat will need to improve for him to be an every day major league outfielder. Right now, he projects as more of a fourth outfielder.
