In addition to managing Mahoning Valley, Wallace will also serve as the catching coordinator.
Sarbaugh returns to Columbus where the Clippers will look to defend their Governor’s Cup Championship. Prior to the 2010 season Niebla spent nine seasons as a pitching coach at various levels in the Indians Player Development System. Lee May Jr. also returns to the Columbus staff for his 2nd season as the club’s Hitting Coach.
Tremie will begin his first season as the manager of the Akron Aeros. Last year Tremie served as manager of the AZL Indians as well as the Indians farm system catching coordinator. Greg Hibbard moving from Akron to Mahoning Valley is curious to me. Any apparent reason for this ?
Not sure on Hibby, but I am checking. My initial guess is he is simply just being reassigned to align with the lower level guys and move up with them the next several years to Lake Co in 2012, Kinston in 2013, and Akron in 2013 and reassess from there. They have done this with Hibbard and Arnold for awhile now as Arnold a few seasons ago went from Akron back to Lake County. Rowe had been the MV coach for awhile, so no one had gone back there....although kind of interesting Hibby is in MV and not LC and instead the greener Jeff Harris is in Lake Co.
