- Jayson Nix - 3B, Senadores de San Juan: 2-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI, BB, K. Nix's second game back after a 10 day absence due to a minor injury from being hit from a pitch, and he finally comes through with his first nice night at the plate. He came into the game just 2-for-27 in 8 games, but his two hits and reaching base three out of four times are hopefully the start to something good these final 10 days in Puerto Rico.
- Roberto Perez - C, Indios de Mayaguez: 2-for-3, 2 R, BB. Perez continues to be an on-base machine in Puerto Rico reaching three of the four times at the plate. In 14 games he is now hitting .333 with a .500 on-base percentage.
- Juan Apodaca - C, Aguilas del Zulia: 1-for-3, 2B, 2 RBI. A solid night at the plate for the Aguilas backup catcher. His 2 RBI pushed his RBI total into double digits with 10 now in 22 games.

Very positive signs from Roberto Perez. Personally, me viewing the game from the perspective of a pitcher, I'd love to see Perez be able to hit enough to become our everyday catcher at some point. A sound defensive catcher like Perez contributes more to winning games without any real stat to be able to point to, to verify that fact. I've always been a big fan of the Josh Bard's who thrive, from a personal standpoint, on the success of the staffs they handle.
