Around the Farm: December 17

(Photo: MiLB)
Here is a quick recap of how the players in the Cleveland Indians' system did in fall/winter league action on Friday December 17th:
  • Ezequiel Carrera - CF, Navegantes del Magallanes: 1-for-3, R, BB, K. Carrera continues to start out in Venezuela, but he has shown all the skills to be a solid fourth outfield with versatility to play anywhere in the outfield, above average defense, a good approach at the plate (18-16 BB/K ratio), and speed (8 stolen bases).
  • Jerad Head - RF, Gigantes de Carolina: 3-for-4, 2 R, RBI. Head with his second straight 3-hit night and is not 6-for-10 in his last two games with 4 runs scored, a double, home run, and 3 RBI. He has really had a solid showing out in Puerto Rico.
  • Asdrubal Cabrera - SS, Leones del Caracas: 3-for-4, R, 2 RBI, BB, K. A rare multi-hit night for Cabrera who has now had a hit in 16 of his 19 games in Venezuela but only 4 multi-hit games. He has now hit in 5-straight and 11 of his last 12 games.
  • Roberto Perez - C, Indios de Mayaguez: 0-for-0. Perez did not get the start, though was inserted into the game late as a defensive substitution.
