Around the Farm: December 3

Here is a quick recap of how the players in the Cleveland Indians' system did in fall/winter league action on Friday December 3rd:
  • Luis Valbuena - 2B, Cardenales de Lara: 1-for-3, R, BB. Was hitting .179/.312/.244 through 23 games, but in last 13 games is 14-for-42 (.333) and has raised his overall line to .233/.354/.342 in 36 total games.
  • Jayson Nix - 3B, Senadores de San Juan: 1-for-5. Nix got his first hit but is still just 1-for-13 in his first three games of action out in Puerto Rico. He played an errorless game at third, which is the primary area of focus.
  • Roberto Perez - C, Indios de Mayaguez: 2-for-3, 2 R, BB. Perez is off to an encouraging start in Puerto Rico where in five games he is hitting .444/.615/.444.
  • Asdrubal Cabrera - SS, Leones del Caracas: 0-for-4, K. It may be all about getting at bats and have nothing to do with actual performance, but man is Cabrera off to a cold 5-for-25 start in his first week of winter ball.
  • Ezequiel Carrera - PR-CF, Navegantes del Magallanes: 0-for-0, R. Carrera was a late game entry as a pinch runner and then stayed in for defense.
