Here is a quick recap of how the players in the Cleveland Indians' system did in fall/winter league action on Wednesday December 15th:
  • Yohan Pino - RP, Tigres de Aragua: 2.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K. Pino made his third appearance out in Venezuela and threw two perfect innings. He has been a late addition to the Aragua roster and in his three appearances has thrown 5 shutout innings of relief allowing just 3 hits, no walks and has 4 strikeouts.
  • Luis Valbuena - 2B, Cardenales de Lara: 1-for-5, R, K.  Valbuena left 7 runners on base in the contest.  In his last 10 games he is hitting just .226 (7-for-31) but has a a very nice .385 on-base percentage thanks to 8 walks.  In 41 games he now has 31 walks and 23 strikeouts.
  • Ezequiel Carrera - CF, Navegantes del Magallanes: 1-for-5. Carrera has now played in back-to-back games after being sidelined for almost a week after getting hit by a pitch last Thursday. He has a modest 5-game hitting streak though is only 6-for-19 over those 5 games.
  • Asdrubal Cabrera - SS, Leones del Caracas: 1-for-3, RBI, 2 BB, K. Cabrera has hit in 3 straight games and 9 of last 10 though is only hitting .302/.400/.326 over that stretch.
