Around the Farm: December 6

(Photo: MiLB)
Here is a quick recap of how the players in the Cleveland Indians' system did in fall/winter league action on Monday December 6th:
  • Jayson Nix - 2B, Senadores de San Juan: 0-for-4, 2 K. Nix took in his first game at 2B and got a break from 3B. The change in position did nothing to spark his hitting as he is now just 2-for-24 with 8 strikeouts in 6 games out in Puerto Rico.
  • Asdrubal Cabrera - DH, Leones del Caracas: 3-for-4, 2 R, RBI, BB. Cabrera got the night off in the field as the DH, and responded with his best offensive output yet in Venezuela. In his last two games he is now 5-for-9 at the plate with a walk.
  • Roberto Perez - C, Indios de Mayaguez: 0-for-2, R, BB, K. Perez has now gone hitless in back-to-back games and is 4-for-13 in seven games out in Puerto Rico. He is still drawing a good amount of walks with 6 in those 7 games (he had 80 walks in 118 games in 2010 regular season).
