Here is a quick recap of how the players in the Cleveland Indians' system did in fall/winter league action on Thursday December 16th:
  • Roberto Perez - C, Indios de Mayaguez: 0-for-2, BB. Perez got his first start and first official at bats in over a week. The rust showed at the plater, but he was his usual superb self behind the plate in gunning down 2 of 3 runners attempting to steal a base.
  • Asdrubal Cabrera - SS, Leones del Caracas: 1-for-3, R, 2 RBI, 2 BB. Cabrera is only hitting .268 in 18 games out in Venezuela, but he has been getting a hit in almost every game. He currently has a 4 game hitting streak, has hit in 10 of his last 11 games, and has hit in 15 of his 18 games.
  • Juan Apodaca - C, Aguilas del Zulia: 0-for-2, 2 K. Apodaca gets his weekly start and Ks in both at bats. Now hitting just .236/.288/.291 in 20 games out in Venezuela.
  • Luis Valbuena - 2B, Cardenales de Lara: 0-for-3. Valbuena's 9 game on-base streak came to an end. He has played his last 23 games at second base and 36 of his 47 games overall.
