Here is a quick recap of how the players in the Cleveland Indians' system did in fall/winter league action on Saturday December 19th:
  • Ezequiel Carrera - CF, Navegantes del Magallanes: 2-for-2, 2 R, 2 BB. Good things come in twos, well, at least for Carrera on Sunday as he had 2 hits, 2 runs scored, and 2 walks. By reaching base in all four plate appearances, his hitting line in his last 10 games shot up to .290/.405/.323.
  • Luis Valbuena - PH-2B, Cardenales de Lara: 0-for-1, K. Valbuena made a late game pinch hitting appearance and struckout, and then remained in the game at second base.
  • Asdrubal Cabrera - SS, Leones del Caracas: 0-for-5, R, RBI, BB. Cabrera goes hitless in both games of the doubleheader, which is the first time this winter he has gone hitless in back-to-back games. The hitless day also snapped a small 6-game hitting streak.
  • Yohan Pino - RP, Tigres de Aragua: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 1 R/ER, 1 BB. Pino made his 4th appearance out in Venezuela and allowed his first run of the winter ball season.
  • Jerad Head - RF, Gigantes de Carolina: 0-for-5, R. Head's two game 3-hit streak came to an end with a hitless day on Sunday. He is still playing well and in his last 10 games is hitting .294/.415/.441.
  • Roberto Perez - C, Indios de Mayaguez: 1-for-3, R, K. Perez continues to hold his own in Puerto Rico in limited action and is now hitting .292 with a .469 on-base%.
