Around the Farm: November 30

(Photo: MiLB)
Here is a quick recap of how the players in the Cleveland Indians' system did in fall/winter league action on Tuesday November 30th. Note: No games were played in the Venezuela Winter League on Tuesday night.
  • Jerad Head - 1B, Gigantes de Carolina: 0-for-3, BB, E. Head is the last of the American players from the Indians still out playing winter ball. While everyone else wrapped things up and returned home prior to Thanksgiving, Head continues to grind it out in Puerto Rico playing everyday. He has put together a nice resume builder by hitting .262/.372/.439 in 29 games.
  • Giovanni Soto - RP, Gigantes de Carolina: 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K. The Indians have had few hurlers throw this offseason in winter ball and at the moment Soto is the only one still in action. While he started in the minors this past season and will continue to be developed as a starter, his Puerto Rico team has used him out of the bullpen where he has responded well. In 6 appearances he has not allowed a run in 6.2 innings.
