Around the Farm: June 8
Around the Farm takes a quick look at some of yesterday's performances by Indians prospects throughout the system. The positions listed below are where the player was playing in yesterday's game.
Chun Chen - C, Akron: 3-4, 2 2B, RBI, K. Chen is proving to many that his bat is nearly ready for a call-up, but his K rate is still a little alarming. He has 13 walks in comparison to 54 strike outs. Overall, however, Chen is our organization's top catching prospect and at 22 years of age, he has a bright future ahead of him.

Is is possible that the light is FINALLY beginning to go on for Mills, or just a mini hot streak?
I'll be interested to see what Atkins has to say about him. There comes a point in a career when it's time to step up, and now is certainly that time. He was a former #1, so while I don't think he's prominently in the picture right now, should he show something, there's no doubt he could re-emerge in the picture, or at the very least, be part of a trade.
Right now I'd say it's a mini-hot streak. He's gone off a bit before...so he'll have to continue this for the long haul before I think otherwise.
Nice start by Mills. Good to see. But we need to see this go really through the end of the season. Hopefully it does. I don't think he is playing THAT great, but it is certainly better than the past two years. With it being so early though he is a three game slump from back where he was.
