Jeff Ellis: With the picks in the 40’s the Tribe seems intent to just take fliers on upside guys and hope to sign a few. When your system is already as deep as the Tribe’s this makes a ton of sense. They took a prep bat here in Will Jamison from Tennessee. He is committed to play for Ole Miss next year. He is another athlete who was a quarterback on his high school team, which is another trend we are seeing today with a lot of football players and specifically quarterbacks being drafted. He is considered by many to actually be a better pitching prospect then an outfielder. He hit .391 this year and is known to have plus speed. He is another athlete to watch, and the Indians must see a lack of speed as a weakness in the organization as especially today we are seeing the speed tool be a priority target when it comes to drafting bats.
