Head, Talbot outrighted

On Tuesday the Indians announced that they outrighted outfielder Jerad Head and right-handed pitcher Mitch Talbot from the 40-man roster. Both were previously outrighted from the roster earlier this season and then added back on in September, so since this is their second outright they have the option to decline an assignment to the minors and can declare free agency.

The 40-man roster currently contains 38 players with 4 additional players on the 60-day disabled list who do not factor into that total. The roster also includes three free agents in designated hitter Jim Thome, outfielder Kosuke Fukudome, and right-handed pitcher Chad Durbin.
