Around the Farm takes a quick look at some of yesterday's performances by Indians prospects throughout the system. The positions listed below are where the player was playing in yesterday's game.

Felix Sterling - SP, Lake County: 6 IP, 4 H, BB, 7 K.

Arguably Sterling's best professional start to date, Sterling did a fine job overpowering hitters and possessing great command. Although he doesn't have a win to show for it, he pitched lights out. He's also in my opinion one of our best young arms in our whole farm system. Yep, I said it. While he's still a bit raw and young, Sterling will become one of our top prospects for years to come.

Chad Huffman - RF, Columbus: 3-4, R, 2B, K. After having a brutal July where Huffman hit just .082, he's had a great month of August, hitting .412.

Luis Valbuena - SS, Columbus: 2-5, K. I'll ask this again: Why couldn't he do this in Cleveland?

Argenis Reyes - 2B, Columbus: 2-3, R, HR, 2 RBI. Since returning to the organization, he's faired well, hitting .32o.

CC Lee - RP, Columbus: 0.2 IP, K. Lee continues to demonstrate why he's so highly thought of from both inside and outside the organization.

Nick Hagadone - RP, Columbus: (L, 4-3) 0.2 IP, 2 H, 0 ER/2 R. To open the inning, Nick Johnson had a fielding error and then Hagadone managed to get the next two outs before allowing two hits to end the game.

Chun Chen - DH, Akron: 0-4, BB, K. The struggles continue for Chen, who is hitting just .182 in the mont of August.

Raul Padron - C, Akron: 3-4, R, K. With the Aeros not hitting the ball well as of late, Padron stepped up to the occasion.

Brett Brach - SP, Akron: (L, 1-1) 5.1 IP, 7 H, 2 ER/4 R, 3 BB, 4 K. Not an overly impressive or unimpressive outing for Brach, who really despite some troubles here and there, kept Akron in the ballgame.

Adam Abraham - 1B, Kinston: 2-4, R, HR, RBI, K. August has been Abraham's best month of the season so far, hitting .275.

Mike Rayl- SP, Kinston: (L, 1-3) 4 IP, 9 H, 6 ER/R, 2 BB, 3 K, 2 HR. Since being promoted, Rayl has not performed well, to say the least. Opposing batters have a .310 average against him, while his ERA is a huge 5.81. And to answer the next question, it hasn't been just one or two bad outings that have inflated that number.

LeVon Washington - LF, Lake County: 0-4, BB, K. While Washington has struggled to stay healthy, he's only 5 for his last 33. Not a stat you want to hear for a kid who has a lot of promise.

Alex Monsalve - C, Lake County: 2-5, K. In need of a productive night to get himself out of an 8 for his last 44 slump, Monsalve rebounded nicely with a two hit game.

Tony Wolters - SS, Mahoning Valley: 1-3, R. Wolters has kept his head slightly above water the past few games, still hitting just above .300.

Jordan Smith - 3B, Mahoning Valley: 1-4, RBI, K. This kid does it all and I'm excited to see how he can perform in Lake County in the coming year.

Bryson Myles - RF, Mahoning Valley: 1-4. Though he was sidelined for a few weeks this season, Myles has put up impressive numbers and has also impressed me with his skill set in person.
