In the 19th round of the 2010 Draft, the Indians have selected outfielder Mark Brown out of Martin Luther King High School (MI).
Height: 5'9" Weight: Unknown DOB: 09/11/1991 Bats: Left Throws: Left
Signing Update (June 13): I have talked to Brown and he is interested in signing with the Indians, though of course, the money has to be right.
Jeff Ellis: Mark Brown Jr is another player following the Indians draft strategy which seems to be speed + athleticism + scrappiness = World Series. Brown is a 5’9” centerfielder with speed to spare. His junior year was his best season where he hit over .500 and stole 40 bases, and this year he’s only hitting .498 with 12 steals. He was the Detroit Free News preseason player of the year and he has a firm commitment to Kansas. He has said he will sign if its right, otherwise he has no problems going to Kansas to play against top level players. He has been compared to Juan Pierre, and would be another speed demon to add to the list of fast players drafted this weekend.
