In the 28th round of the 2010 Draft, the Indians have selected OF Demarcus Tidwell out of Yavapai College (MS).
Height: 6'2" Weight: 180 DOB: 07/15/1990 Bats: Left Throws: Left
Signing Update (June 13): Tidwell is playing summer ball and the Indians are watching him to see if he is worth the pricetag he has commanded to sign. According to his new coach at Eau Claire, he thinks Tidwell is most likely not going to sign since he was not taken in the first ten rounds of he draft.
Jeff Ellis: Demarcus Tidwell is another major risk by the Tribe. Tidwell has plus athleticism and speed and his hitting tool is also considered plus. He is one of the top players in all the Juco ranks. The reason he is here is the major red flag of being thrown off his previous Juco team and there were reported off the field issues. Tidwell might be the best pure athlete the Tribe has drafted, but there are concerns with Tidwell. No one can deny his talent as he lead all Juco hitters in average this year and was a headache for opposing pitchers once he got on base. Tidwell could end up being the prototypical leadoff man if he can avoid anymore trouble. As yet another sophomore, he could be a hard sign for the Tribe this late.
