In the 6th round of the 2010 Draft, the Indians select SS Nick Bartolone out of Chabot College (CA).
Height: 5'11" Weight: 170 DOB: 10/22/1990 Bats: Right Throws: Right
Quick Hit: He hit .369 (58-for-157) with 5 HR and 35 RBI in 36 games this year for Chabot.
Jeff Ellis: Nick Bartolone is a ghost man. He is not listed anywhere on any of the top sites and the only reference to him is on the Cal State Bakersfield site where he was one of the 5 early commitments for Bakersfield for their first season in division 1. He played last year at Chabot Junior college as a SS. Based on the numbers he put up one would have to guess his best attribute is his speed. He is tied for third in his league in hits and runs, first in triples, and 2nd in stolen bases and total bases. So while I might not be able to tell you much about Bartolone, I bet he is a fairly athletic SS who has shown good gap power. I will leave you with the quote from the Bakersfield coach who recruited him: "Nick is a prime time shortstop with speed, athleticism and ‘ballplayer’ mentality."
Signing Update: He has not officially signed with the Indians, but all signs are he plans to sign right away and he likely is signed before short-season leagues start. Update 6/14: Bartolone has officially signed with the Indians.

were they worried someone else might take him?
Easily the biggest mystery of the draft so far for the Indians. Not necessarily the pick, but him as a player. He's as Jeff calls a ghost. Will definitely be a guy I ask the Indians about.
Yes, info a bit scarce on Bartolone. He was to come here to CSUB, but...???
Here's a link with a little more info:
