2010 Indians 23rd Round Pick: RHP Tony Dischler

In the 23rd round of the 2010 Draft, the Indians select RHP Tony Dischler out of Louisiana State Univeristy.

Height: 6'3" Weight: 190 DOB: 03/06/1989 Bats: Right Throws: Right

Quick hit: From Baseball America Twitter post: "Cle 23rd-rder Tony Dischler must have a high price tag. Low-90s RHP, thought of him as a 4th-7th rd talent."

Ranks:
Baseball America: 105
PGCrosschecker: 219

Scout's Take: "Tony is out of LSU-Eunice. He is a big, strong physical guy with a fastball around 90-96 MPH. He needs a better feel for his slider and changeup. Based off of what I was told they would have to over pay for where they took him. My guess is that he's not signable, but if they can't sign one of their top picks, they can use that money and make a run at him.”

Jeff Ellis: Tony Dischler is a righty who has had a rough year. He was at one time thought to be a possible 2nd or 3rd round guy, but now here is he is round 23. The question is where do you put Dischler as in the pen he touched 97, but as a starter he was at 88-92. He has a potential plus slider. He had a pretty horrible freshman year and rebounded to have a solid year, but there is concern by the drop in his fastball as the year went on. He is still a very interesting player this late and the Indians keep on taking chances with young high profile arms. This is a draft that is definitely showing fans that the Tribe are focused on taking talent with high upside.

Uhhhhh, Tony played for LSU in Eunice this past season and is transferring to ULL for the 2011 season. ULM is getting press here that they shouldn't
