In the 21st round of the 2010 Draft, the Indians have selected RHP Owen Dew out of Central Florida.
Height: 6'2" Weight: 180 DOB: 09/26/1988 Bats: Right Throws: Right
Jeff Ellis: Owen Dew is exactly the type of righy the Indians like to draft. He was drafted last year in the 33rd round by the Angels. Owen has a fastball that sits in the 88-91 range, but it has a good sink to it. He has a good change up which has the potential to be a plus pitch and he has experience both in the pen and as a starter. Last year he was the number 2 pitcher for UCF. He didn’t put up the best numbers this year, but did earn a win against one of the top programs in Rice this year, which has next year's likely top pick Anthony Rendon. He is yet another pitcher with a sinking fastball who should help the overall depth of the Indians system.
